DB BOXES Selection & Product Information |
-
Finishes
range from oil and varnishes to laquer and acrylics, all pieces
being sanded and polished with adbrassive grits up to 600 in
most cases. Some surfaces are wet polished with oil, waxed and
buffed to a high lustre. Some of the laqured peices are hand
buffed and polished to a high gloss, glass-like finish, while
others are kept to a rich satin sheen.

Most
boxes shown are custom, one-of-a-kind, which may be duplicated
(if out of stock) in terms of size, design and proportions,
but never with the same grain pattern, as pattern is unique
to each piece of wood. A desired design (as seen on
this website) may be ordered with different dimentions or changes
in the wood type and contrast combinations. Custom orders with
other specific features may be considered and estimated upon
request.

DB
Boxes are not "production-line" generated. The necessary
care, selection and artful handfitting of pieces, require unrushed
devotion to craftsmanship expected of museum quality. Woodworking
is a passion driven by an appreciation of wood's natural beauty
and a desire to present it in an imaginative, striking display.

The
images you will find on this website in the Showcase Gallery,
are of "good" quality and the original photographs of these
works are "great", but the pieces themselves are "best." I don't
believe you will be disappointed in any way should you decide
to own a DB Artwood creation!
